# Assign team leader roles in Cake Day

> Give trusted teammates operational access to Cake Day's roster and invite flows without full admin privileges. Available on Growth and Pro plans.

Team leaders can help admins manage the day-to-day work of keeping the roster up to date. They can invite members, send broadcast DMs, and manage the roster, but they can't change workspace settings or billing.

<Note>Team leaders are available on **Growth and Pro** plans. The feature is not available on Free or Starter. [Upgrade your plan](https://cakeday.io/pricing) to unlock it.</Note>

## What team leaders can do

A team leader has the same operational access as a Cake Day admin for roster management tasks:

* Invite individual teammates via `/cakeday invite @user` or the user picker modal
* Run broadcast invites (if your plan supports broadcast)
* Add, edit, and remove roster entries from the dashboard

Team leaders **cannot**:

* Change workspace settings (celebration channel, post time, timezone, pause/resume)
* Manage billing or upgrade the plan
* Add or remove other admins or team leaders
* Access the Admins page

## How to assign a team leader

1. Go to [cakeday.io/app/team-leaders](https://cakeday.io/app/team-leaders).
2. Click **Add team leader**.
3. Search for and select the Slack member you want to assign.
4. Confirm. The member now has team leader access.

You can assign as many team leaders as you need — there is no cap.

## How to remove a team leader

1. Go to [cakeday.io/app/team-leaders](https://cakeday.io/app/team-leaders).
2. Find the team leader you want to remove.
3. Click **Remove** next to their name and confirm.

Their team leader access is revoked immediately. They keep their standard Cake Day member access (they can still run `/cakeday me` to manage their own dates).
